I realized today that I have lived my whole life under the shadow of the atomic bomb.
By which I mean to say: for older generations, it has not always been a given that a country or organization could destroy the known world.
I wonder if the fact that it has really been ever-present has changed our ability as a generation to deal with enormity and absolute horror it reflects.
